Axalta Coating Systems has launched its Artists Signature Series at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 3-6, 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Axalta’s first palette in the series, Cromax® “Danny D Mild-to-Wild Combinations”, debuted in Axalta’s exhibit booth at SEMA. The Axalta Signature Series is designed to recognize and promote the unique, sometimes eccentric and sometimes eclectic, but ever-innovative artists who use Axalta products in ways only they can imagine.

Danny “Danny D” Gálvez, the popular custom automotive painter and pinstriper, and Rachel De Barros, host and executive producer for Gearhead Diva, were on hand to help Axalta’s Harry Christman, Cromax Brand Manager, launch the new product line at the Axalta Engineered for Speed booth.

“This is an exciting time for both Axalta and the artists with whom we work, and I’m glad that Danny D was able to be here to help Axalta launch our Artists Signature Series,” said Christman.  “We are inspired by artists like Danny D who are using automotive graphics and our products to express themselves.

“Danny D is one of the most prolific and respected artists in the lowrider community,” added Christman.  “Danny is known for his ability to choose and combine colors in patterns, shapes, fades and special effects in ways that are simply breathtaking.”

Because choosing colors is Danny D’s specialty, Axalta asked him to create a series of three-color combinations, known as sets or triplets, using only Cromax basecoats.  These triplets range from “mild” conservative combinations to the bright, highly contrasted “wild” sets, hence the name Cromax “Danny D Mild-to-Wild Combinations”TM.
